I shot this fly (Trypetoptera punctulata, Sciomyzidae) this year in summertime in Northern Germany.
I like the black and white pattern and the red-striped eyes.

I don't know why some people don't like insects...I think they're beautiful. This fly really is extraordinary. Sometimes even with fancy clothes, people just can't match bugs for looks! :XD:

I use a Canon 350d (Digital Rebel XT) and 180mm Sigma macro lens. I think that your pics are very sharp too, why are you complainig? ;)

You probably wouldn't notice it at all, because they are very small - approx. 1cm or less.
