Cold and Wet by nele102 Cold and Wet by nele102
I took this pic on a cold and wet morning in October. The fly most probably belongs to the genus Pollenia (cluster flies) and thus to the family Calliphoridae (blowflies - in german Schmeißfliegen).

Blowflies are generally known as a health hazard, but members of this genus (Pollenia) aren't, because their larvae parasitise on earthworms and don't feed on human food.

Everything about this shot is wonderful, sharpness, detail, color, I love:heart: the way you framed this photograph, draws your eyes right up to the flies eye's.
