Blue Eyes by nele102 Blue Eyes by nele102
This pic shows Dioctria atricapilla. In Germany it is called Black Robber Fly, but I did'nt find an english name for it.

When I took this photo the sun had just disappeared beyond the horizon and so exposure time was very long (5 sec). One out of approx. 15 pics was sharp the others were blurred due to a moderate breeze.

(Sorry for my bad english.)

It's sooooo clear!

And that's really incredible, 5 second exposure, during a breeze, and it only took you 15 tries? Wow, you must have had a lot of practice at taking photos of moving objects.

Only 15 shots to get one clear one during a breeze with a 5 second exposure time? You must be a magician.

I'm not an insect kind of person, but this is an incredible shot! It's hard to capture insects clearly because they're always moving, or fly away. You've pulled it off brilliantly! The most impressive part of this photograph is the clarity of the eyes and legs. The colors are so magnificently coordinated and they really pop out.

All in all this is a brilliant photograph! <3

That is pretty damn cool. It's probably hard to get nature's smaller sized inhabitants to hold still while trying to get the rihgt lighting. You have pulled off the awesome!

Faved!
